Deaths in Longford - March 2, 2017

Vera Tierney (née Gunshinan), Artane, Dublin / Drumlish, Co Longford

The death occurred on Wednesday, March 1 of Vera Tierney (nee Gunshinan),  Artane, Dublin and formerly Drumlish, Co Longford, peacefully in the care of the staff of St Francis Hospice, Raheny surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of the late Tommy and devoted mam to Imelda, Michael, Caroline, Bernadine and nephew Frank; very sadly missed by her sons-in-law Michael, Dermot and Martin, grandchildren Gemma, Joseph, Louise, Robert, Ava, Ellen, Julie-Ann and Thomas, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Road, Coolock on Thursday, March 2 from 4pm followed by removal to St John Vianney Church, Ardlea Road for 6pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, March 3 at 10pm and thereafter to Fingal Cemetery for burial.

PJ ‘Patrick Joseph’ Bohan, Drumboy, Mohill, Co Leitrim
The death occurred on Monday, February 27 of PJ ‘Patrick Joseph’ Bohan, Drumboy, Mohill, Co Leitrim, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Mullingar General Hospital.
Sadly missed by his sisters Philomena and Mary, brothers Michael and Phillip, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. RIP.
Funeral Mass at 11am on Friday, March 3 in St Patrick's Church, Mohill. Burial afterwards in Annaduff Cemetery.

Mary ‘Minnie’ Carroll, Cluntymullen, Legan, Co Longford
The death occurred on Monday, February 27 of Mary (Minnie) Carroll, Cluntymullen, Legan, Co Longford. Sadly missed by her neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, March 2 at 11am in St Mary's Church, Legan with burial afterwards in Foxhall Cemetery.

Tommy Kellegher, Miskawn, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim
The death occurred on Wednesday, February 22, in Detroit, Michigan, USA, of Tommy Kellegher, Miskawn, Aughnasheelin, Leitrim. Sadly missed by his brother Liam, sisters Peggy McHugh (Longford) and Mary Nolan (Drumshanbo), sister-in-law, Carmel, brothers-in-law, Jim and Sean, nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends.
Reposing in St Mary's Church, Aughnasheelin on Friday, March 3 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.


Robert Knox, Ardagh, Co Longford / Blackrock, Dublin
The death occurred on Tuesday, February 28 of Robert Knox, Ardagh, Co Longford and formerly of Springhill Avenue, Blackrock, Co Dublin, suddenly.
Beloved husband of Susan and loving son of Detta and the late Robin Knox. Sadly missed by his loving wife, mother, brothers Paul and Aidan, sisters Colette, Loretta and Pat, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephew, uncle, relatives and friends. Rest in peace.
Reposing at Sheahan's Funeral Home, 71 Upper Georges Street, Dun Laoghaire on Thursday, March 2 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Removal on Friday, March 3 to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock, Co. Annie ‘Nan’ Moore (née Mulligan), Williamstown, Finea, Co Westmeath
The death occurred on Tuesday, February 28 of Annie ‘Nan’ Moore nee (Mulligan) Williamstown, Finea, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, peacefully at her home.
Predeceased by her husband Peter. Sadly missed by her son Johnny, daughters Rosemary, Annmarie, and Christine, sisters-in-law Maggie Dermody, Mai Moore and Mary Mulligan, daughter-in-law Marian, sons-in-law Jason and Larry, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at her home on Thursday evening March 2 from 5pm until removal on Friday evening March 3 arriving at St Mary's Church, Finea at 6.30pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday March 4 at 2 pm. Interment afterwards in local cemetery.

The death occurred on Monday, February 27 of Margaret ‘Peggy’ Reilly (Née Hackett), Keelagh, Mohill, Co Leitrim, peacefully in the loving care of the Matron and staff of Arus Carolan, Mohill.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Bernard, dearest mother of Gerard, Patricia, Helen, Marie and Pauric. Deeply regretted by her daughters-in-law Nóirín and Martina, sons-in-law Aidan, Gerry & Seán, cherished grandchildren Clíodhna, Diarmaid, Ciara, Aoibhín and Eimear, sisters-in-law, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 2 at 12 noon in  St Joseph’s Church, Cloonturk  with burial afterwards in Mohill Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Patient Comfort Fund, Arus Carolan. House private on Wednesday. “Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis”.
