The death occurred unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12, 2026 of Fiacc Russell of Lakeview, Rossan, Aughavas, Co Leitrim / Ballinamuck, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his grandmother Terry Russell. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Eamon and Ciar, his loving brothers Donnacha and Tadhg, grandparents Lorcan and Adair Maher and Eamonn Russell, Aunts Kyle, Cliona and Aisling, cousins, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends. The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Midland’s Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Saturday, April 11, 2026 of Raymond White, Tenelick, Abbeyshrule, Co Longford. 

Pre-deceased by his infant son Raymond Jason and by his brother David. Raymond will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Freda, children Gavin, Jackie, Barry, Fenton and Jenny, daughters-in-law Tricia, Evelyn and Bronagh, son-in-law Mal, sister Thelma Jones, grandchildren Paddy, Freya, Louie, Milo, Ellie and Alfie, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends. Safe in the arms of Jesus.

Resting at his residence (N39 X967) on Monday, April 13 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral Service in Tashinny Church on Tuesday, April 14 at 2pm. Interment afterwards in Carrickedmond cemetery.

Rosemary Slattery (née Reynolds), Grange South, Mullingar, Co Westmeath / Lanesboro, Co Longford

The death occurred at her home in Grange South, Mullingar, Co Westmeath, surrounded by her loving and devoted husband John and her caring sisters on Saturday, April 11, 2026 of Rosemary Slattery (née Reynolds) Grange South, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Kate Reynolds (Née Bannon), her brothers Brendan, Seán, Jim and Mossie, her sisters-in-law Mary and Kathleen, her brothers-in-law Patsy, John, and her nephew James.

Rosemary will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her beloved husband John, her brother Fr. Kevin MHM (Castlerea), her sisters Eileen Slattery (New York), Ann Madden (Cappamore) and Teresa Redfearn (Watford), her brothers-in-law Tom Madden and Malcom Redfearn, her sisters-in-law Rita, Mary and Ita, her nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Gilsenan's Funeral Home, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath (N91 K660) on Tuesday, April 14 from 7pm to 8.30pm. Rosemary's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, April 15 at the Church of the Little Flower & Our Lady of Good Counsel, Brotenstown, Mullingar (N91 YC89) followed by burial at Granlahan Cemetery, Ballinlough, Co. Yvonne Maguire, Clifden, Galway / Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Carna Nursing home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 11, 2026 of Yvonne Maguire, Clifden, Galway/ Longford town, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Gertrude Maguire, her siblings Tiernan, Hugh and adored sister Mary. Beloved aunt of Michele and Yvonne. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her nephew-in-law Brian, Caragh, Ryan (Ashling), and baby Donnchadh. Deeply regretted by her brother Paul and sister-in-law Bente(Canada) , her nieces , nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May her gentle soul Rest In Peace.

Arriving at St. Joseph's Church, Clifden on Monday, April 13 for prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass for Yvonne on Tuesday, April 14 at 10am followed by cremation service at Shannon Crematorium at 3pm. Family flowers only, donations if desired to the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland.

Breege (Breda) Kilbride, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3, Dublin / Granard, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully, at her home in Clonliffe Road, surrounded by her family and carers on Sunday, April 12, 2026 of Breege (Breda) Kilbride (retired RGN), Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3 and formerly of Cartron, Granard, Co Longford.

Pre-deceased by her parents, Tom and Mary Kilbride, her brothers, Sean, Seamus, Paddy, Joseph, and, recently, by her sister, Maura Kilbride Harkin. Breege will be sadly missed by her sisters Margaret (Sr Roberta, Presentation Order) and Bernadette (McGovern), her brothers Thomas and Michael, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, her dedicated team of carers, close friends and neighbours.

A Mass for Breege will be celebrated in the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Fairview, (D03 E165) at 1pm on Tuesday, April 14 (mass in Fairview can be viewed HERE) followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Granard (N39 XY46), arriving at 6pm. Funeral Mass, which can be viewed HERE, will take place on Wednesday, April 15 in St Mary’s Church, Granard at 11am, with burial afterwards in Granardkille Cemetery. House private please.

Predeceased by his parents Mary and Frank, his brothers Michael and Tommy, nephew Kevin, brother in law John and sister in law Celia. Peter (Pete) Shiel, Carniska, Strokestown, Roscommon

The recent death has occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, in his 95th year on Saturday, April 11, 2026 of Peter (Pete) Shiel, Carniska, Strokestown, Co Roscommon. Last surviving member of the Shiel family of Bunnamuca, Strokestown.

Pete will be sadly missed by his adoring children, Seamus, Mary, Coman, Margaret, Martina, Peadar, Eibhlín, Ronan & Ciaran, his eighteen grandchildren, Katie, Sinéad, Maeve, Siobhán, Brian, Niamh, Aoife, Kevin, Aidan, Fiona, Amy, Cathal, Mai, Ciara, Caitlin, Grace, Sam & Ellen Rose, his four great-grandchildren, Donagh, Róise, Tessa & Lily, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Pete is reunited with his loving wife Eileen, son Brendan & infant daughter Anne. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown (F42 RK72) on Monday, April 13 from 5pm until 8pm. Removal to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown, on Tuesday, April 14 to arrive for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in his 97th year on Thursday, April 9, 2026 of Stanley (Stan) Ferguson of Bray, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Blackrock, Co. Dublin and Drumsna, Co. Leitrim.

Predeceased by his brothers Keith, Cecil, Artie and David, and brother-in-law David Galloway. Deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife and best friend of 66years, Jean, adored children Randal, Karen and Aisling, their partners Deirdre and Alan, cherished grandchildren Jamie, Katelyn, Kerry, Megan, Ian and Jasmin, sisters-in-law Janet, Zeta and Val, extended family and friends.

A Gathering will take place at Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Tuesday, April 14 from 5pm to 7.00pm. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will take place in Dun Laoghaire Methodist Church, Northumberland Avenue on Wednesday, April 15 at 11am, followed by cremation. No flowers please. Brendan Galligan, Rathcolman, Mullingar, Westmeath / Mullahoran, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at home, after a short illness on Sunday, April 12, 2026 of Brendan Galligan Rathcolman, Mullingar, Co Westmeath/ Mullahoran, Co Cavan. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Connie, his son Colin and daughters Sarah and Karen, his daughter-in-law Nicola, son-in-law Brian, his adored granddaughters Grace and Blossom, grandsons Ben, Billy and Teddy, his sisters-in-law. brothers-in-law, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his siblings Mary T, Bridie, Con, James and Thomas. Predeceased by his wife Annie Kate, his parents and sisters, Sr. Mary, Rose, Josephine and Tessie.
