The recent death has occurred at Sligo University Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 of Aoife Treacy (née Malone), Tirmactiernan, Leitrim Village, Co. Leitrim and formerly Ballywillan, Abbeylara, Co Longford,
Aoife will be sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Brian, adored children Evan, Farah and Fíachra.
Cherished daughter of Geraldine and Frank, loving sister to Celine and Philip, nieces Arleine, Leah, Isla, Amelie and Sophia, nephew Jack mother-in-law Maureen, father-in-law Michael, brother-in-law Eunan and his wife Jacqui, sister-in-law Nolene and her husband Emmet, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Aoife will repose at her home (N41 NY63) on Friday, June 27 from 2pm until 8pm. Mass of Christian burial on Saturday, June 28 at 12 noon in St Joseph’s Church, Leitrim Village followed by burial afterwards in Kilronan Cemetery. Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE.

The death occurred peacefully after a long illness bravely borne, surrounded by his heartbroken family in Queenscourt Hospice, Southport on Thursday, June 12, 2025 of Gerard (Gerry) Murray Skelmensdale, Wigan, England and formerly of Killenastra, Ardagh, Co Longford.
Predeceased by his parents John Joe and Rosie and infant brother Brendan. Gerry will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by his family, daughter Danielle and her partner Ben, son Kieran and his partner Teresa, their mother Mary, his adored grandchildren Rose and Sophia, brothers Seamus (Paula) Ardagh and Sean (Ann) Killoe, sister Frances (Eddie) Cellbridge, his dear aunt Ann, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, cousins, relatives, and his wonderful neighbours and friends. Gerry will repose in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford N39 KN66 on Thursday, June 26 from 5pm until 8pm. Removal from the family home in Ardagh, on Friday, June 27 to arrive at St Brigid's Church, Ardagh, N39 EN27 for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, Gerry will be laid to rest in the family plot in the adjoining Cemetery.
