The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family in her 98th year on Thursday, March 13, 2025 of Kathleen Donlon (nee O’Boyle), Clonker, Moydow, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Jack, brother Bernard (Barney) and by her sister Cecilia. Deeply regretted by her children Sr Mary F.M.M., Padraig, Sheila, Louise, John and Winifred, her daughters-in-law Mary and Ann, her sons-in-law Jim and Enrique, her grandchildren John, Claire, Amy, Rachel, Ellen, Tony, Katie and Maeve, her sisters-in-law Deirdre and Sr. Winifred (Manchester), her brother-in-law Tony (Oregon), her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her home in Clonker (N39 K640) on Friday, March 14 from 2pm until 5pm, followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Moydow to arrive for prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, March 15 at 1pm, interment afterwards in Moydow cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live – View here Family flowers only please.

Michelle Mitchell (née McSkeane), Corncrake Meadows, Abbeyshrule, Longford / Monaghan

The death occurred peacefully after a short illness surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 13, 2025 of Michelle Mitchell (nee McSkeane), Corncrake Meadows, Abbeyshrule, Co Longford and formerly of Ballybay, Co Monaghan. 

Predeceased by her parents Bridie and Jackson and by her mother-in-law Nuala. Michelle will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband Robert, sons Jack and Ben, sisters Deirdre, Carol Anne, Jacqui and Andrea, brother Tim, father-in-law Jimmy, sisters-in-law Elaine, Caroline, Catriona, Aoife, Joan and Laura, brothers-in-law Dave, Aiden and Pete, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing in the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Abbeyshrule (N91 AE35) on Saturday, March 15 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 6pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Sunday, March 16 at 1pm, interment afterwards in Abbeyshrule cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to The Palliative Care Unit at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar c/ o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member. House private please.

James (Jim) McGoldrick, Ennybegs, Killoe, Co Longford

The untimely death occurred following a short illness on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 of James (Jim) McGoldrick, Ennybegs, Killoe, Co Longford.  

Predeceased by his father Thomas and father-in-law Denis. Sadly missed by his loving wife Bríd, their sons Denis and Ronan and daughter Darina, cherished grandsons Tadhg and Cian, his mother Nellie, mother-in-law Bridie, brothers Dessie, Aidan and Mark, sisters Ann, Sandra and Sheila, daughter-in-law Gráinne and soon to be daughter-in-law Julie, aunt Conchessa , sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbours. May he rest in peace.

Jim was a generous friend to many and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Please send prayers and special consideration at this time to his colleagues and the residents of Longford/Westmeath Mental Health Service, the members of Killoe GAA club and the Killoe Men’s Shed, all whose company he greatly enjoyed.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, Longford (N39 EC81) on Saturday, March 15 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection in St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs on Sunday, March 16 at 1pm with burial afterwards in Cullyfad Cemetery. Peter J McHugh, ‘Carnlea’, Foynescourt, Longford town, Co Longford / Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 of Peter J McHugh , ‘Carnlea’, Foynescourt, Longford and formerly of Drumkeerin, Co Leitrim and Dublin.

Pre-deceased by his father Hugh D and mother Mary D, sisters Anne and Pauline, brother Hugh, father-in-law John Maguire and brother-in-law Paul. Peter will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his wife and best friend Roisin, sons Gavin, Derek, Alan and Fergus, daughters-in-law Geraldine, Kara, Louise and Mary, adored grandchildren Rachel, Eoghan, Emmet, Roddy, Tom, Alex, Henry, Ralph and Rían, sister Carmel Garvey, brothers Leo and Tom, mother-in-law Kathleen Maguire, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Phyllis Barnes (née Campbell), Abhainn Glas, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford / Dublin

The death occurred peacefully in the presence of her loving family in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Saturday, March 8, 2025 of Phyllis Barnes (nee Campbell), Abhainn Glas, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford / Dublin.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by her loving children, Sandra, Derrick, Joyce, Tracey and Paul, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother Patrick, son-in-law Dave, daughter-in-law Sandra, family and friends. May she rest in peace. Ar dheis Dè go raibh a hanam.

Reposing at her home on Friday, March 14 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 15 at 11.30am in St Agnes's Church, Crumlin. Cremation afterwards in Mount Jerome Crematorium at 1.30pm.

Patrick (Pat) McDermott, Cloonkeen, Castlerea, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully at Fearna Manor Nursing Home Castlerea, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, March 13, 2025 of Patrick (Pat) McDermott, Cloonkeen, Castlerea, Co Roscommon.  

Predeceased by his infant son Patrick, his parents Patrick and Ellen, and his beloved sister Kate (Flanagan).

Beloved husband of Teresa and loving father of Helen Naughton (Sean, Castlerea), Grace Lyons (Gerry, Castlerea), Teresa Doherty (John-Martin, Donegal), Mary (Vincent, Castlerea), Denis (Barbara, Lanesboro), Michael (Brigid, Foxford), John (Strokestown), and Martin (Mary J, Dublin). Pat will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, daughters, sons, his adored grandchildren Rebecca, Kevin, Andrew, Daniel, Aoife, Sarah, Dylan, Jason, Helen, Ciaran, Oisin, Emma, Joseph, Noreen, Lily, Harry, Adam, Sadie, Zoe, and Ollie, and his great-grandson Rian. Also, by his brothers and sisters Mike (Castlerea), Cormac (Boyle), Martha (Joyce, Glenamaddy), Celia (D’Arcy, Castlerea), and Mary (Donlon, Glinsk). Reposing at McDonagh’s Funeral Home, Castlerea on Monday evening, March 17 from 4pm until 6pm. Funeral arriving at St Patrick’s Church, Castlerea, on Tuesday morning, March 18 for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery.

    Margaret Kerrigan (née Kenny), Barradrum, Streete, Co Westmeath

    The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff at Mullingar Regional Hospital and in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 of Margaret Kerrigan (nee Kenny), Barradrum, Streete, Westmeath. 

    Predeceased by her mother Mary. Maggie will be sadly missed by her loving family, husband Liam, daughter Jennifer, sons Paul and Mark, grandchildren Jason, Chelsey, Harry and Chloe, brothers and sister, daughter-in-law Victoria, Jennifer's partner Barry, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.

    Reposing in St Mary's Church, Boherquill on Thursday, March 13 from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday, March 14 at 11am in St. Mary's Church, Boherquill. Burial afterwards in Streete Churchyard. House private please.

    Bernie Prior, Derradda & Lisacarn, Ballinamore, Leitrim

    The death occurred suddenly at his home on Thursday, March 6, 2025 of Bernie Prior, Yonkers, New York and formerly Derradda & Lisacarn, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.

    Youngest son of the late Pee and Lizzie Prior. Bernie will be forever missed by his loving wife Veronica, his sister Mary (Healy), brothers Hugh, Pat and Peter, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, the extended Prior and Cashin families, cousins, neighbours and his many close friends. Rest in Peace.

    Bernie reposed at Ruggiero & Sons Funeral Home, 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers New York, 10704 on Sunday afternoon, March 9 from 3pm - 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday March 10 at 10.30am in the Church of St. John the Baptist, 670 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, 10704.     Bernie will repose in Smith's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim N41TD62, on Thursday evening March 13 from 6pm – 8pm.       Monica Gilligan (née McGahern), Drogheda, Louth / Cootehall, Roscommon

      The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Bartra Nursing Home in Loughshinny, Co Dublin, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 of Monica Gilligan (née McGahern), Drogheda, Co Louth, late of Cootehall, Co Roscommon and Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.

      Beloved wife of her devoted husband Paddy. Beautiful mother of Edel, John, Paula, Patrick and Susan. Wonderful granny to Alex, Kate, Maud, Luke, Eve, Shane, Juliana, Aengus, Roisin, Cormac, Oscar, Sadhbh, Myles and Fran and a very special great-granny to Mallaidh. Pre-deceased by her sisters Breege and Margaret and brothers Seán and Frankie. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Rosaleen and Dympna, by her daughters-in-law Marie and Darina, her sons-in-law Brian, Aquila and Seán, her extended family, former colleagues and friends.

      Monica was a gifted primary school teacher who taught in Saint Philomenas, St Itas, Scoil Aonghusa and the Presentation Primary School in Ballymakenna, Drogheda. Her kindness and cheerful smile will never be forgotten.

      Reposing at her family home in Drogheda between 6 to 8pm on Thursday, March 13. Funeral mass will take place on Friday, March 14 at 11.45am at Saint Augustine's Church, Shop Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth, A92A8PN followed by internment in Ballymore Cemetery in Craughwell Co. Galway close to 4pm.

      Sr Dominica (Peggy) O'Reilly, Rathbracken, Granard, Longford / Ballymote, Sligo

      The death occurred peacefully, in her 96th year, in West Leaderville, Perth, Australia, in the loving care of St John of God's Convent Sisters and her nephew, Kevin Gallagher on Friday, February 21, 2025 of Sr Dominica (Peggy) O'Reilly, late of Rathbracken, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of St John of God Convent, Dun Bhrid, Ballymote, Sligo. 

      Predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters, most recently her Sister Joan Gallagher, Rathbracken. Peg will be sadly missed by her Brother Tommy O'Reilly (Newry), Sisters Ellen Float (UK), Liz McNerney and Bridie Myericks (USA), nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

      A Memorial Mass will be offered in Peg's memory on March 21 at 7.30pm in St Mary's Church, Granard. Peg will be laid to rest in Perth. May she rest in eternal peace.
