Gerry Hickey, Lock House, Clondra, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his family in Mullingar Regional Hospital, on Friday, November 1, 2024 of Gerry Hickey, Lock House, Clondra, Longford. Predeceased by his parents Mick and Kathleen, brothers Sean and Seamus and sister Dorothy.

Gerry will be sadly missed and always remembered by his loving family, his daughter Susan, son-in-law Stephen and his adored grand-daughter Abigail, brothers Hugh, Noel, Paul, Michael and Kevin, sisters Kathleen, Eileen, Patricia and Bernie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and good friends. Looking back with memories, Upon the path you trod. We bless the hours we had with you And will leave the rest with God. Rest in Peace Gerry.

Gerry will repose in Connell’s Funeral Home, Church St, Longford, N39 A032 on Monday, November 4 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7.30pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday, November 5 to arrive to St Brendan’s Church, Clondra, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Following Mass Gerry, will be laid to rest in Killashee Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to ISPCC or Barnardos c/o of Connell Funeral Directors or any family member.

Michael Corkery, Sarnaught, Castlebar, Mayo / Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in his 95th year, in the loving care of the staff in the Ross Suite, Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar on Saturday, November 2, 2024 of Michael Corkery, Sarnaught Lodge, Sarnaught, Castlebar, retired Telecom Éireann staff member and former Mayo GAA goalkeeper. 

Predeceased by his parents Catherine and Patrick, brothers and sisters and his best friend Michael Neary. Deeply regretted by his loving family, sisters Philomena and Angela, brothers Fr. Eamon, Neilus and Oliver, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Michael will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, F23 XY63 on Tuesday, November 5 from 5.30 -7pm. Removal on Wednesday morning, November 6 at 8.45am for Requiem Mass at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford. Simon Cummins, Foxrock, Dublin / Granard, Longford

The death occurred at home with his beloved wife Hilary, after an illness bravely borne on Saturday, November 2, 2024 of Simon Cummins, Foxrock (formerly of Granard, Co Longford). Much loved, he will be hugely missed by Hilary, his children Sarah, Simon, Karl and David, his sons and daughters-in-law Jeremy, Dairine, Aoife and Helmi, his adored grandchildren Seán, Will, Ruby, Zayn, Sia and Aya; his sisters Grainne, Mona and Frieda, his extended family and all of his wonderful friends.

Reposing at Massey’s Funeral Home, Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock (A94 X308) on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 5pm to 6.30pm. A private cremation will take place. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Irish Lung Fibrosis Association (donate here).

Ethna Burbage (née Morgan), Drumlish, Longford

The death occurred, in her 104th year, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Our Lady’s Manor Nursing home, Edgeworthstown, Longford on Saturday, November 2, 2024 of Ethna Burbage (née Morgan), Drumlish, Longford. 

Predeceased by her husband Michael and her brother Seamus Morgan (Clones). Ethna will be sadly missed by her daughters, Mary Nolan (Bray), Patricia Lennon (Drumlish), Aine McGrath (Dublin) and Dympna Walsh (Athlone), her sons-in-law Anthony, Sean, John & Willie, her grandchildren Kevin, Susan, Ciaran, Orla, Triona, Aoife, Roisin and Patrick, her great grandchildren, her nephews and nieces. May she Rest in Peace.

Her remains will repose at Our Lady’s Manor from 5pm on Sunday evening, November 3 concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass in St Mary’s Church, Drumlish, at 11am on Monday, November 4, with burial afterwards in the new cemetery. Funeral mass can viewed live by clicking on the following link.

Patricia Donohoe, Aughamore, Lisryan, Longford / Dring, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at her residence in the loving care of her nieces and nephew on Saturday, November 2, 2024 of Patricia Donohoe, Aughamore, Lisryan, Co Longford and formerly of Albert Road, London SF20. Predeceased by her loving husband Pat (Paddy). Deeply regretted by her sisters in law Bridgid and Lily, nieces Caroline, Maggie, Lizzy and Samantha, nephew Bernard, cousins, neighbours and a large circle of friends. May Patricia Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her residence on Sunday, November 3 from 5pm. Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Mullinalaghta N39EY17 on Monday, November 4 at 1pm. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan H12 RF78. House private on Monday morning please. The death occurred peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024 of Donald Smith, Kilmore, Clondra, Longford (Ex. An Post , Longford)Predeceased by his parents Bill and Margaret, sisters Patricia and Baby Sheila, brothers Liam and Mel and by his infant son Aidan. Donald will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, beloved wife Myra (nee Duffy), daughters Carmel, Edel, Sheila, Maggie, Helen, Bernie, Frankie and Vera, sons Raymond, Kieran, James and John, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren Andrea, Rachel, Leanne, Eoin, Christina, Michael, Cian, Grace, Fergal, Clara, Mark, Clodagh, Oscar, Dorothy, Roy, Leo, Rebecca, Conor, Robert, Thomas, Molly and Cillian, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family in the care of the nurses and staff of The North West Hospice Sligo on Thursday, October 31, 2024 of Michael Reilly, Drumgowla, Cloone, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by his parents; Michael and Margaret, his wife; Dymphna and his brother; Vincent. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family; Michael (New York), Celine, Stephen, Priscilla (New York), Kephas and Jason, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, sister; Monica McHugh (Cloone), brother; Peter (Cork), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends. The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his family, in the devoted care of the staff at the Roscommon Hospice on Friday, November 1, 2024 of Syl McPhillips, Racecourse Road, Roscommon Town and formerly of Strokestown, Co Roscommon. 

Predeceased by his beloved son Michael, parents James and Christina and his brothers Patsy, Sean, Seamus and Eamon.

He will be fondly missed by his loving wife Marie, sons Kevin, Alan and Declan, daughters Yvonne and Gráinne, sister Ann (Goggins), daughters-in-law Ann Marie and Aoife, sons-in-law Martin (Lambe) and Tommy (Bulfin), grandchildren Kate, Lorcan, Laura, Tim, Ronan, Senan, Mary, Seamie, Gracie and Rafe, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Sunday evening, November 3 from 4pm until 6pm followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, November 4 at 11am. Burial afterwards in St Coman’s Cemetery. Patrick (Paddy) Nelson, Donacarney, Meath / Drogheda, Louth / Arva, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Silverstream Nursing Home, Duleek on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 of Patrick (Paddy) Nelson, Mornington Park, Donacarney, Co Meath, formerly of Shop Street, Drogheda, Co Louth, Glenside Hotel and late of Arva, Co Cavan. 

Predeceased by his parents Alec and Molly and his darling grandson Seán. Loving husband of Sheila and Dad to David, Hilary and Caroline. Paddy will be very sadly missed by his wife, son, daughters, loving daughter-in-law Martina, sons-in-law Rob and Finn, grandchildren Jonah, Molly, Lauren, Daisy and Frankie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. May He Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Townley’s Funeral Home, Crosslanes A92 XN75 on Sunday, November 3 from 3pm until 6pm. Funeral Mass on Monday morning, November 4 at 11am in Star of The Sea Church, Mornington followed by private cremation in Dardistown Crematorium at 1:30pm which can be viewed live HEREFamily flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Alzheimer - Tredagh Lodge. Special thanks to all staff at Silverstream Nursing Home for their warmth and compassion shown to Paddy during his two years there. The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the nurses and staff of Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Rooskey on Friday, November 1, 2024 of William Harte, Moher, Dromod, Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret, sisters and brothers. Beloved husband of Elizabeth and dear father to Paddy, Ollie and Patricia. Sadly missed by his wife and family, daughters in law Tamara and Wendi, son in law Jacob, his six grandchildren Liam, Niamh, Aoibhinn, Ashton, Conor and Sienna, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May William Rest in Peace.

Reposing in St Michael’s Church, Bornacoola (N41E421) on Tuesday, November 5 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 6 at 11am in St Michael’s Church, Bornacoola, followed by burial in Cloonmorris Cemetery. House Strictly Private Please. William’s family wish to thank you for your understanding at this enormously difficult time.
