James Peter Hopkins, Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully aged 91, with his family by his side on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 of James Peter (PJ) Hopkins of Hale, Cheshire, England and formerly Lislea, Kenagh, Co. Longford. He is pre-deceased by his parents and brother Paddy. PJ will be sadly missed and remembered with much love and affection by his wife Margaret, daughters Sandra, Celine and Loretta and sons-in-law, Jason, David H and David F, his grandchildren, Imogen, Tristan, Mauringh, Harry, Ruby and Alfred, sisters Philomena, Nellie, Bernadette, Celia and Kathleen his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends both in Ireland, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt and the US. May he rest in peace.

PJ's Funeral Mass will take place in The Holy Angels Church, in Hale Barns, Altrincham on Monday, September 9 at 10:30am followed by cremation at Dunham Massey Crematorium.

Michael Teague, Rockypool Crescent, Blessington, Wicklow / Carrickboy, Longford

The death occurred peacefully after a short illness in the kind care of the staff of Naas General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 24, 2024 of Michael Teague, Rockypool Crescent, Blessington, Co Wicklow and formerly of Vicarstown, Carrigboy, Legan, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Mary, brother Bill and his parents-in-law Gladys and Jimmy Cahill. Will be sadly missed by his wife Bridie, children Margaret, Michael, Celine and Audrey, his daughter in law Helen, sons in law Gerry & Marcus and his adored grandchildren Jamie, Mark, Sean, Adam, Holly, Jake, Liam, Lucy and Daisy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and his great circle of friends and neighbours. May Michael’s gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.

Reposing at his home in 21 Rockypool Crescent, Blessington Co Wicklow (W91T6X7) on Wednesday, August 28 from 4 – 8pm. House private thereafter please. Annie Gertrude (Gertie) Kenny (née Duffy), Kildallogue Heights, Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff at Roscommon Hospice on Sunday, August 25, 2024 of Annie Gertrude (Gertie) Kenny (nee Duffy), Kildallogue Heights, Strokestown, Roscommon.

Predeceased by her parents Luke & Ellen Duffy and her brothers Eamon, Dinny, Mick & Leo. Beloved wife of Ado and much loved mother of Sheena and Francis. Gertie will be sadly missed by her husband, daughter and son, son-in-law Eugene, daughter-in-law Breege, brother Luke, sisters Una (Gertie's twin), Bridie, Ita, Phil and Helen, grandchildren Orlaith, Sadhbh, Ailbhe, Melissa and Adrienne, great grandchildren Senan, Barra and Rory, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at the home of her son, Francis, 12 Lisroyne Oaks, Strokestown (F42FY09), on Tuesday, August 27 from 5pm until 8pm. Removal on Wednesday, August 28 to the Church of the Imaculate Conception, Strokestown, for Funeral Mass at 11am. The death occurred suddenly at his home on Friday, August 23, 2024 of Michael (Mick) Kelly, Borefield, Strokestown, Roscommon. Predeceased by his parents Eugene (Twin) and Florrie.

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and in the devoted care of his nephew Paul on Friday, August 23, 2024 of Michael (Mike) Reilly, Annaduff Glebe, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Ann, parents Michael and Alice, brothers Peter, Joe and Pat. Maureen Molloy, UK

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs Maureen Molloy, beloved wife of Mr Aidan Molloy. Maureen passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Greenwich, London, UK. 

She was the cherished daughter-in-law of the late Mr and Mrs Airlie, whose family were well known and respected Merchant Tailors in Longford town many decades ago. Maureen will be deeply missed by her loving husband Aidan, her extended family, and all who knew her. We kindly ask those who may have had any distant connection or relation to the Molloy or Airlie families to join us in remembering and celebrating her life.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at St Stephen's RC Church, Welling, Kent, England. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cancer Research UK.
