Jimmy Finn, Derryhaun, Kenagh, Co Longford
The death occurred peacefully at his home on Thursday November 2, 2023 of  Jimmy Finn, 19 Derryhaun, Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by his son David. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Betty, his children Mary, Paddy, PJ, Seamus, Esther, Lizzie, Carmel and Valerie, his grandchildren David, Kevin, Doireann, Shauna, Patrick, Molly and Amy and great grandson Lachlann. May Jimmy Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Farrell's Funeral Home, Lanesboro (N39 HV52) on Saturday, November 4 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Sunday, November 5 arriving at the Church of the Blessed Virgin, Newtowncashel, for Funeral Mass at 12:30pm. Burial afterwards in Kilcommock Cemetery. Home Private Please. Kathleen Gorman (née McIntyre), 10 O'Callaghan's Avenue, Granard, Longford


The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her heartbroken family on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 of Kathleen Gorman (née McIntyre), 10 O'Callaghan's Avenue, Granard, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, her parents Joe and Bridget, brothers Paddy, Larry, Joe and Seamus. Cherished mother of Padraig and Breda. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her loving family, her adored grandchildren Evan, Siobhán and Elaine, brother Eamon, Sisters Breedge, Mary and Margaret, son in law Enda, Padraig’s partner Fiona, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown on Thursday, November 2 from 5pm to 7pm. Arriving at St Mary’s Church, Granard on Friday, November 3 for Funeral Mass at 11.30am followed by Cremation Service in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan at 2pm. House private at all times, please.

Kevin McGuire, Cartronfinns, Colehill, Longford


The death occurred suddenly but peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023 of Kevin McGuire, Brighton, Boston, U.S.A. and formerly of Cartronfinns, Colehill, Co Longford. Kevin will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, father James, mother Carmel (nee O’Neill), sister Angela McNamara (Granard), brother Conor (Mansfield, USA), brother-in-law Padraig, nephew Conor, niece Rachel, Enda and Mandy (USA), aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and many friends. Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Friday, November 3 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, November 4 in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carrickedmond at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Carrickedmond Cemetery. Caroline Nugent, Camelot Cottage, Carrickduff, Granard, Longford / Coolock, Dublin


The death occurred, following a short illness, in the tender care of the staff of Mullingar Hospital, on Friday, October 27, 2023 of Caroline Nugent, Camelot Cottage, Carrickduff, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of Macroom Road, Coolock, Dublin. 
Caroline, loving mother of Wayne and Jeff is very sadly missed by her family, daughters in law Orla and Sarah, brothers Ray and Niall, sisters in law Lisa and Kanchana, grandchildren Louis, Gracie, Max and Jake, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Joe Nangle, Fortlauderdale, Florida, USA formerly Battlebridge, Leitrim Village, Co Leitrim


The death occurred suddenly at his home in Florida on Thursday, September 28, 2023 of Joe Nangle, Fortlauderdale, Florida, USA and formerly Battlebridge, Leitrim village, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his parents Sean and Tessie, sister Mary and brother Edmond. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving sisters Teresa Looney (Drumkeelan, Drumshanbo), Stella Scollan (Dublin), Patricia Keane (Battlebridge), brothers Michael (Leitrim Village), Brendan and Ciaran (Dublin), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, Joe’s good friend Christina, relatives, neighbours and his many friends in Florida and Leitrim. May He Rest In Peace.
Arrangements have changed. Joe’s Funeral took place in Florida. Mass to celebrate Joe’s life will take place in St. Joseph’s Church, Leitrim Village on Friday, November 3  at 10am, followed by burial of ashes in Drumshanbo New Cemetery.

John Harkness, Aughavore, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim

The death occurred tragically, as a result of an accident on Thursday, November 2, 2023 of John Harkness, Aughavore, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by his father Jim. John will be very sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Paula, sons Mark and Jonathan, daughter Claire, mother Bertha, brothers Alan (Siofra), Robert (Ruth) Winston (Daphne), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, uncle and aunts, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Maureen Gohery (née Galvin) Ballindrimley, Castlerea, Roscommon / Athleague, Roscommon


The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the tender and excellent care of the staff at Roscommon Hospice on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 of Maureen Gohery, Ballindrimley, Castlerea and formerly of Corderryhugh, Athleague, Co Roscommon.
Predeceased by her husband Bernie, parents George and Mary Kate, sisters Ita, Bridie and Mona, brothers Tom, Stephen and Paddy. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her sisters Betty Dolan (Longford), Kitty Hourigan (London), Anne Brehony (Knockcroghery) and Dympna Higgins (Castlerea), brothers Gerard (Corderryhugh), Austin (Ennis) and George (Home), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and her many good friends. May Maureen Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Hamrock's Funeral Home, Athleague (Eircode F42CC92) this Friday evening, November 3 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal from the residence of her brother George on Saturday, November 4 to The Church Of The Assumption, Castlecoote arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 1pm followed by burial in Athleague cemetery. Sean Flanagan, Lacken, Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath


The death occurred peacefully at home after a long illness surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 2, 2023 of Sean Flanagan, Lacken, Glasson, Athlone, Westmeath.
Predeceased by his father John, mother Annie, sister Mary Donohoe and nephew Frank. Sean will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Anne of 52 years. Survived by his children John, Aidan, Anne Marie and Julisa, daughters in law and sons in law Shirley, Dana, Ian Dermody and Gerry O’Grady, his grandchildren Ruby, Ciara, Lily-Mai, Annabelle, Chloe, Katelyn, Patrick and Sophie, his nieces Breda and Anne, relatives, neighbours and friends. A special mention of thanks to Sean’s carer Kathleen who cared for Sean during his long illness to which his family will be eternally grateful. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand (N37 WY17) on Saturday, November 4 from 4 until 7pm. Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tubberclaire on Sunday, November 5 at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House Private Sunday morning, November 5 please. The family greatly appreciates your sympathy and support at this very difficult time. Due to increases in viruses and vulnerability of family members, the family asks that those attending the funeral be vigilant and hand sanitise where appropriate.
