The new store is located in one of the best known units in Longford town on the Market Square.

The unit had been occupied by Shaw’s Department Store until its surprise closure at the end of January. Shaw’s had closed after just 13 months’ trading in Longford.

The closure of Shaws came just shortly after the annoucement that Homebase in Longford is to close as well later this year.

At the time the closure of Shaws was greeted with dismay, particularly as the unit in such a prominant location.

However less than two months later, the Market Square unit is once again open for business, much to the delight of local traders.

Dealz is the latest discount store to open in Longford.

Eurogiant has two stores in the town as does the Centz chain.
