There was significant attendance from the local business community eager to understand practical applications of digital tools and AI
Longford County Council recently hosted a successful business event, as local enterprises gathered to explore how technology and artificial intelligence can drive growth and profitability.
‘The Technology for Growth: Building Smarter Local Businesses’ event, organised by Longford Local Enterprise Office in partnership with Longford County Council, attracted a significant attendance from the local business community eager to understand practical applications of digital tools and AI.

Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council, Cllr Gary Murtagh opened proceedings before broadcaster Matt Cooper took the helm as host for the morning session. Expert presentations from Peter Cosgrove of Futurewise.ie and David Nagle of Microsoft provided attendees with real-world insights into technology adoption and digital transformation.
The programme included a panel discussion featuring LEO digital consultant John O'Shanahan of LEAN BPI and Louise Brennan of Fabiani, who shared her experience as an early adopter of digital technology. Their practical perspectives demonstrated the tangible benefits available to Longford enterprises willing to embrace change.

The event concluded with networking opportunities, allowing attendees to engage directly with digital service providers. Local exhibitors including Wottaspace, CTS Longford, Purple Decks, Cablecomm and Create Interactive were joined by AppAdvisor, Big Red Book, LowerFees.ie, RD Tax Solutions and Irish Manufacturing Research, who travelled to participate in the event.
