The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD announced last Friday, May 30, that 125 new jobs are to be created at VistaMed in Carrick-on-Shannon.
This development is part of a new investment programme totalling more than €7 million, and the jobs are positions are expected to be filled by the end of this year.
“VistaMed is a great example of an Irish company with world-class product offering, performing stronlgy in highly competitive global markets and employing large numbers of people in Co Leitrim,” Minister Bruton said.
VistaMed’s Managing Director, Patrick Mulholland, added: “This new extension will allow us to offer an even more comprehensive design and development service that, combined with the addition of sophisticated equipment, will enable us to continue to offer a world-class service to the global medical device industry.”
The 35,000 square foot expansion of the company’s facility in Carrick-on-Shannon includes a large cleanroom area for the manufacture of catheters, and a dedicated R&D Engineering Laboratory, which re-inforces VistaMed’s continuing support for innovative design and development projects.
