Longford native and former Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Anne Heraty, has signed up as the Longford Partner to the Junior Entrepreneur Programme (JEP) 2014.
The CPL Resources chief executive has given her backing to lead the rollout of the JEP to fifth and sixth class students in schools throughout Longford where pupils will learn the art of setting up their own classroom business.
In what is being classed as an opportunity to encourage and motivate the region’s entrepreneurs of tomorrow, students will be given the chance to participate on the first national programme of its kind nationwide.
“I’m really looking forward to working with local Longford youngsters in what could be the most important ten week project of their life,” said a clearly excited Ms Heraty this week. “This has the potential to shape the future lives of some of these children, by giving them a real insight into how to turn a good idea into a good business.
