Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre
A local Fianna Fáil representative has called on Longford County Council to review the signage for the Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre to create a greater awareness of its importance and location.
Cllr Mick Cahill submitted a motion at last week's monthly meeting of Ballymahon Municipal District where he said designated signs needed to be updated and this was supported by his fellow councillors.
"It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the county and we do need to take action on it. There are signs for Corlea in Longford, one in Granard and one in Ballymahon but it's a major tourist attraction."

The motion was seconded by Cllr Paul Ross who said it was a positive motion.
Acting Director of Services Michael Nevin said Longford County Council would review the signage and further enhance both historical and cultural elements to deliver a better visitor experience
"This will include a review of promotional and directional signage and Longford County Council will review existing signage to determine if there are any gaps in quality or location."
Cllr Mick Cahill said he was pleased that action was being taken to address the issue and he was hopeful there would be a positive outcome.
