Assault charge to return before Longford court in November
A defendant facing an assault charge will return before Longford District court in November.
Sidiali Achour (32) with a charge sheet address of Richmond Court, Richmond Street, Longford was before Judge Patricia Cronin on an assault charge.
The defendant is accused of assault causing harm on Walid Boskia on August 24, 2023. Garda Yasmina Milicic gave evidence of the arrest charge and caution of the defendant.
Sergeant Mark Mahon told the court the prosecution was awaiting directions from the Director of Public Prosecution.
The defendant was represented in proceedings by solicitor Brid Mimnagh. Ms Mimnagh requested that an Arabic interpreter be present when the defendant is next brought before the court.
Sgt Mahon said the DPP was consenting to bail on a number of conditions.
The conditions Mr Achour must abide by include signing on at Longford Garda Station daily, remaining intoxicant free, provide
Gardaí with a new address and have no contact with the injured party including contact via social media.
Judge Patricia Cronin then adjourned the matter to November 21 for DPP direction.
