Strokestown Easter Parade set for tomorrow

All roads will lead to Strokestown this Easter as the annual Strokestown Easter Sunday parade takes place on  April 16 at 3pm.

The fantastic family parade is a fun filled day for all the family and will feature a host of attractions and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Every year the parade continues to get bigger and more colourful than the last, and the Strokestown Community Development  association would like to thank all of the businesses, schools, clubs and organisations who show incredible support the Easter parade each year.

Fortunately, this year the weather forecast is looking great for the Easter weekend, so there's no excuse not to come out and soak up some sunshine while enjoying the festivities, and the organisers would like to see everyone supporting the parade.

There will be cash prizes for the best Tidy Towns float, the O’Connor Memorial Cup for best vintage piece of machinery or car, and lots more incredible prizes to be won on the day, so make sure you get involved.

The parade will be led this year by Scoil Mhuire All Ireland Gaelic Football College Champions, along with  the All Ireland Certified Irish Angus Winners, also from Scoil Mhuire, as well as the County Enterprise winners from Scoil Mhuire.

The theme of the parade is 'Inspiring Youth' to celebrate the exceptional success of Scoil Mhuire and its pupils this year.

There will be a number of youth groups from the region participating in the parade also.

All voluntary floatscan join the parade for free, and commercial floats are €25 to enter.

All floats should be in town no later than 2.40pm to ensure the smooth running of the Easter parade.
