A number of free live music events have been arranged by musicians from across Co Longford for Love:Live Music Day 2013, which takes place this Friday.
Amongst the gigs being scheduled is a series of open air trad music sessions at The Green in Edgeworthstown, featuring Joe Callahan and John Dungan. The music will start at 7pm and the session will run through until 11pm.
“This is a great opportunity for people to engage with our vibrant musical culture,” said Arts Minister, Jimmy Deenihan at the launch of this year’s programme of events. “We’re thrilled with the range of events being registered - everything from choral gatherings and pop-ups to ceilis, concerts and jazz processions - there’s something for everyone.”
Previous years have seen events take place in schools, churches, shopping centres, libraries, pubs, parks, and even a train and there are sure to be more imaginiative locations for this year’s celebrations on Friday.
