For nine days only, a group of artists will host an exhibition entitled ‘Engage’ in Providers, Main Street, Longford.

Artists including Amanda Jane Graham, Bobby Walsh, Gary Robinson, Shane Crossan, Rosie O’Hara, Gordon Farrell and Frank Farrell will exhibit a diverse range of works in the iconic building.

This is just the first step for the group, who hope that the exhibition will get more people involved. “There is a national arts scene and an international arts scene that Longford is missing out on” explained Amanda Jane Graham. She hopes that the exhibition will show the public what they’re missing out on.

Those involved wish to thank all who have helped them out, including the McGinnitys, Providers, Viewmount House, Longford Arms Hotel, Rapid Print, Longford Plant and Tool Hire, John O’Hara, Longford Library and the Longford Arts Office.

Engage will open at 7pm on Friday, 20 September, and John Waters will perform the official launch. From then, the exhibition will be open to the public from 12pm-6pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 12.30pm to 5.30pm during the week until September 29. For more information on Engage, visit their Facebook page on www.facebook.com/engagelongford1.
