Seisiún an tSamhraidh got off to a great start last Wednesday night in Áras an Mhuilinn, the Midlands Regional Comhaltas Centre in Mullingar.

An authentic show of Irish music, song, dance and stories and an informal session all add up to a unique audience experience for locals and visitors.

The opening night’s group of musicians, who came from Longford, Offaly and Westmeath, included Rebekah, Stephen and Nathan Brady from Dring, who entertained the crowd with their talented trad renditions.

Comhaltas Seisiún is one of the longest-running summer shows of its kind. The event is not only a concert, but also a unique traditional cultural experience enabling visitors from both home and overseas to enjoy a real taste of Ireland.

Seisiún will feature artists from the Midlands counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath on different nights.

With an entrance fee of €10, it’s reasonably priced and provides excellent value for money, and concessions are available for advance group bookings. To reserve tickets, call 044 930644.

Seisiún an tSamhraidh shows will take place every Wednesday night until August 21, with shows starting at 8.30pm.
