Successful celebrations for Drumlish Community

The May Bank Holiday weekend saw the people of Drumlish and the surrounding areas flock to Drumlish Community Centre to watch or participate in the gala weekend organised to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the centre.

The May Bank Holiday weekend saw the people of Drumlish and the surrounding areas flock to Drumlish Community Centre to watch or participate in the gala weekend organised to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the centre.

On Friday night, May 3rd, the Drumlish Community Centre Commemorative book was launched at the Variety Show. The book was compiled and edited by the 25th anniversary committee.

Saturday saw the family fun day take place, along with Mass, a blessing of the centre and Irish night. The first annual Cairn Hill Challenge on Sunday morning was a resounding success. Gary Brady was first across the finish line in the 10K event, with a time of 44:21 and John O’Hanlon emerged victorious from the 10mile race, finishing with a time of 1:05:18. Results of the Challenge can be viewed at http://www.precisiontiming.net/ under “fixtures and results”.

Sunday night, the weekend came to a close with a Double Band Extravaganza with bands the Aftermath and Nite Fever.
