Local author launches topical book

A large crowd gathered in Easons, Longford on Friday, March 7, as Newtowncashel native Susan Broderick launched her first book.

A large crowd gathered in Easons, Longford on Friday, March 7, as Newtowncashel native Susan Broderick launched her first book.

Registered with the Association for Professional Counselors and Psychotherapists of Ireland, Susan also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Counseling and an Honours Diploma in Psychology, and is a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. Her book, entitled ‘Simple Techniques to Managing Stress and Worry’ is very topical nowadays, and proved very popular on the launch night.

With many years of training and experience behind her, Susan discusses a number of issues and topics in her book, including; the symptoms of stress; awareness of stress triggers; the affects of worrying; anger management; work-related stress; tips for stressed parents with teenagers; building self-confidence; becoming more assertive and relieve stress by settings goals.

Speaking to the Leader after the event, Susan admitted that she was very pleased with how the event had gone, explaining why she thinks her book is particularly topical at the moment.

“I believe that both men and women are suffering stress and worry due to the current economic climate” she explained. Her book is aimed at both men and women of all age groups.
