Art exhibition

The St Christopher’s end of year art exhibition will continue at the Backstage Theatre throughout the months of December and January.

Coole to be Green

An art exhibition of recycled products, which were made in Coole National School, will continue in Castlepollard Library until Friday December 20.

LSPCA Raffle

The LSPCA Christmas raffle will take place in John Brown’s on December 20. Tickets are available in the shop or through members.

Christmas Draw

The Mullinalaghta Community Centre and St Columba’s GFC Christmas fundraising raffle will take place on Friday, December 20.

Carols and lessons by candlelight

Longford Methodist Church host carols and lessons by candlelight with Longford County Choir this Saturday, December 21 at 7pm at the Methodist Church, Battery Road Longford. Proceeds are in aid of Longford Hospice.

Album launch

Local girl group Celtic Chique will launch their debut album ‘One Step Closer’ at a Christmas celebration in the Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday, December 21. There will be performances on the night by Celtic Chique, tenor Paul Hennessy and senior students of Evolution Stage School.

Craft fair

Christmas Craft Fair in aid of Suicide Prevention Centre Longford takes place in the ‘98 Hall on Sunday, December 22 from 10am to 2pm.

Carols by Candlelight

St Thomas’ Church Columbkille are having a service of Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, December 22 at 7.30pm.

Nelson Mandela concert

Longford will remember and celebrate the wonderful life of Nelson Mandela with a special concert at the Market Square on Sunday, December 22 at 2pm. South African Embassy officials will be in attendance and a book of condolences will be opened for the public to sign.

Santa Train

The Cavan and Leitrim Railway in Dromod present the Santa Train on Sunday December 22.


On Sunday, December 22, a fundraiser will take place in Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon for the Longford Centre for Independent Living.

Santa in Kenagh

Santa Claus will visit Gav’s Bar, Kenagh on Sunday, December 22 at 4pm.
