All involved with the forthcoming St. Mel’s Musical Society production of Oliver! are putting the finishing touches to the eagerly awaited show with the official launch in Coy’s Bar (the main sponsors) this Thursday night, March 27, starting at 9pm.

Members of the cast and the production team will take a break from the hectic rehearsal schedule to mingle with the sponsors at the launch with music by Paschal, Davy and Liz. And there are various other people working hard behind the scenes, particularly the Set Construction crew, to maintain the usual high standards associated with the annual Longford musical.

Liz Leavy (who sings with Paschal’s popular band) is also a member of the Oliver! cast. Liz will play the part of Mrs. Sowerberry when the show opens in Backstage Theatre on Friday night week, April 4th, for a total of nine performances - running until Saturday April 12th.

Playing the leading role of Oliver is 13-year-old Jack Oates (see separate story on Page 41) and it promises to be a spectacular show which would not be possible to stage without the support of the generous sponsors.

Tickets for Oliver! are on sale and immediate booking is advised such is the big demand to see the show.

Booking through Backstage Theatre Box Office: 043-3347888 or online at www.backstage.ie

Tickets also available at Farrell Coy.
