The Stanley Carroll School of Irish Dancing recently held a very successful workshop in Longford.

It was a great opportunity for the Irish Dancers to meet up and train with their sister school in the UK. It also gave them the chance to announce their new association with the highly regarded Scottish school Haughey McCauley, who have also seen many past-pupils feature in shows such as Lord of the Dance. Now, both schools have a total of 10 qualified teachers and 5 adjudicators putting the dancers through their paces in Ireland, Scotland and the UK.

Dancers and teachers took part in this 3-day event under the watchful eye of Lisa Cullen TCRG - the Longford based teacher. The workshop proved to be a lot of fun for the younger dancers, whereas intense training helped dancers hoping to qualify for the World Championships in London in 2014. Some of the dancers even took part in the World Record featured on the Late Late Show a few weeks ago.

The school would like to thank the Longford Arms and La Brace restaurant for making the visitors’ stay very enjoyable.

Anyone interested in joining the school should contact Lisa on 087 9804402 or visit Alternatively, you can search for them on Facebook.
