In addition to the headline acts, such as The Stunning, Fight Like Apes, Kila and David Kitt, the festival also provides an opportunity for local acts to perform. This year sees Appian Way, Downward Spiral, Midnight Roots and a number of other groups from the region appearing on the line-up.

Helium 2013 will take place at Skelly’s in Ballymahon on Saturday, June 8. After last year’s sell-out event, the organisers are advising people to book tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Tickets can be purchased from Entertainment.ie, Skelly’s Bar and The Country Shop in Ballymahon, The Sound Factory in Athlone, Denniston’s in Longford Rochfort’s Music in Mullingar and Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop in Galway.
