‘The Best Of Thomas Maguire’ has just been released to celebrate Thomas’ eleventh year in the music business. It encompasses 20 tracks including six previously unreleased songs.

The first 14 songs are titles which should be very familiar to Thomas’ fan base and draw upon his first two solo albums in conjunction with the follow up three albums recorded with his duetting partner Fhiona Ennis.

First to hit the needle is the self penned “Where Did We Go Wrong”, and “Irvinestown My Home”, a co-write with fellow townie Dan Rowe.

Thomas’ manager Henry McMahon offers three titles in the form of “Kelly Ann”, “Way Back Then” and “I Hate Karaoke”.

Other originals come in the form of “Take Me Home Johnny” by Noel Lennon and “Your Health Is Your Wealth” by Gerard Dornan.

Thomas covers some tried and tested covers including Willie Nelson’s “If You’ve Got The Money”, Tom T Hall’s “Margie’s At The Lincoln Park Inn” and Dolly Parton’s “Let Her Fly”.

The six previously unreleased titles include three originals, “You’re Gonna Need Me” from Eamonn McPhilomey together with “A Fool’s Heart” and “Maisie” from UK songwriting team Gavin Sparks and Kay Shelley”.

Thomas Maguire who hails from Irvinestown in Co Fermanagh hit the country music scene in Ireland in Oct 2000 under the management of Henry McMahon.

Previous to that Thomas had been living in London and performing on the local music scene which culminated in being voted “Best Act On The London Circuit” at the “Irish World Millennium Awards” held in the famous Galtymore, Feb 2000.

Eleven years on, Thomas is still touring extensively throughout Ireland and the UK with his duetting partner Fhiona Ennis and their band.

The “Best Of Thomas Maguire” brings us up to date with Thomas’ best material so far and together with the inclusion of the six previously unreleased songs, will be a great addition to the library of both fans and newcomers alike.
