The ever popular Helium Festival will step into action with a twist this year. On the morning of the festival (June 9), a fund-raising fun run has been organised. The route will take participants out the N55, turning left towards Brannigan Harbour and along the banks of the Royal Canal. Returning back to Ballymahon via the R362, the 5K run will be completed upon one circuit. The 10K will involve a second circuit.
Prizegiving will take place at 1pm straight after the race and an additional prizegiving ceremony will take place on the Helium Main Stage at 7pm that night.
The Ballymahon Traders Association and the Helium committee wish to thank the Civil Defence who are on board to provide support on the day. In addition, a number of physiotherapists have signed up to help out on the day.
