The Lion, Aonghus O'Muirí, delighted to be back on the Longford stage for ‘The Wizard of Oz’

'Having sung in choirs and bands for much of my life, I was delighted to get the opportunity to share the stage with the cast and crew of "Me and My Girl" with St. Mel's Musical Society in 2025 as Parchester. It was an incredible experience that I was eager to revisit.

‘Not that anyone wants to say they identify with the Cowardly Lion, but maybe there's an element of relatability there! He's a silly character who does what has to be done, even if it doesn't always come easily. His songs are a lot of fun to perform, which helps a lot.

‘The talent this year is mindblowing among the principals, chorus, and dancers and the work of our committee, crew and directors has been phenomenal. Looking forward to putting on a stellar show!'
