'The Wisdom of Farmers' is going to be released in April, 2026
The Wisdom of Farmers is the latest book from award-winning and number 1 best-selling author and Longford native John Connell. The book is the product of many years of travel and research by John about the wisdom that the oldest profession in the world; farming, and how it can teach us in our busy modern lives. John weaves stories from ancient Ireland all the way to outback Australia, South west America and back again.

Covering 12 thoughts of the land philosophy the book is the story of the 10,000 years of knowledge we can gather from farming and how we can relearn the wisdom that has at times eluded us today. Its the product of 10 years of farming and thinking and is sure to be a great follow up to John's last book 12 sheep.
John's book is coming out with Atlantic books on April 2, 2026 but the book is now available for pre order nationwide from all good book shops and you can ensure to have an early copy in the new year.

John Connell is a multi-award-winning author, film producer, investigative journalist and farmer. The Cow Book was awarded Popular Non Fiction Book of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. He has written many Longford-based books in his career.
