Longford Backstage Theatre Group promises three entertaining one-act plays

The plays are 'Dada' by Frank Houlihan, 'Baby Steps' by Moira Mahony and Sarah Fahey, and 'She Said She Said' by Michèle Ciba

An evening featuring new, recently written plays by Irish writers will be performed by local actors and directors as part of Backstage Theatre's autumn schedule. The plays are Dada by Frank Houlihan, Baby Steps by Moira Mahony and Sarah Fahey, and She Said She Said by Michèle Ciba. 

The one-act plays will be Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18. The tickets cost €15.

Following the huge success of last year’s autumn short plays, Backstage Theatre Group once again brings you an entertaining evening of new plays.

Baby Steps is written by Moira Mahon & Sarah Fahy and will be directed by Christine O’Brien. It tells the story of Chris (Oisin Hourican) and Ash (Sarah O’Keefe) as they prepare for a new addition to their family and features a chorus of Deirdre Brennan, Anthony Heavey, Jess Kersh, Edel Lally, Padraig Reilly, Katie Smith.

Dada by Frank Houlihan is a dark comedy that is sure to entertain. Directed by Maureen Dunne it sets out the misadventures of Nonie (Trish McCormack) and Min (Laura Brennan) as they interact with Brady (Peter Column), Father Bill (Jim Davey) and the local Guard (Dee Monahan).

The final play of the evening is She Said, She Said which was written by group member Michele Ciba. This play is directed by Ollie Kenny. In it Mairead (Christine O’ Brien) and Tom (Tom Lyons) come to the aid of fellow book club member Caoimhe (Michéle Ciba). The play will also feature Liam (Davy Flaherty) and a Garda (Cora Doyle).This evening of one act plays is a guaranteed evening of quality drama and it will be staged on Friday October 17 and Saturday October 18 with curtain at 8pm. Tickets costing €15/12 are available at the theatre box office or online.
