‘All about giving sport a go’ Strongwoman Open Day in Longford this weekend

Accomplished Longford Strongwoman competitor Jade Harkin: ‘Come try out different strongman events and get a taste of sport’
A Strongwoman Open Day is taking place this Sunday, July 12 in Horse Power Gym, Longford from 12 noon.
The event is open to all abilities and strengths and it is free for members of the Horse Power Gym and is €10 for non-members.
Accomplished Strongwoman competitor Jade Harkin explained, “Come try out different strongman events and get a taste of sport.
“It is designed specifically with complete beginners in mind. Whether you've never touched a barbell before, train regularly, or are simply curious about the sport, we'd love to have you join us.”
Jade continued, “We'll be introducing a variety of strongman events in a fun, supportive environment, with plenty of light-weight options available so everyone can take part at a level that suits them. No experience, no special strength level, and no competitive background required.
“This is all about giving the sport a go, learning something new, meeting like-minded people, and discovering what you're capable of.”
Jade, who recently came third at Europe's Strongest Woman, explained that the sport has given her so much and she would love to share that feeling with other women. “It would be great to get as many women involved as possible.”
