Ten members, accompanied by eight staff, took part in the tour last Monday, where they were given an insight into the chocolate-making process as well as the enviable opportunity to enjoy some of the delicious finished products.

Led by tour guide Jaimie, the group learned about the history of Butlers Chocolates before watching a short cinema presentation.

During a tour of the factory, the Longford group saw first-hand the various stages involved in the manufacturing of Butlers’ famous chocolates, including the wrapping and boxing process.

The experience continued with everyone decorating their own chocolate teddy bear before enjoying hot chocolate and sweet treats.

Posting on their Facebook page, the Irish Wheelchair Association thanked the committee for supporting the tour, as well as the staff and drivers who helped make the outing possible, adding that another group will return to enjoy the experience in the future.
