Kavanagh eager to make impact in Leinster

Brian Kavanagh is eager for Longford make an impact in the Leinster championship after falling at the first hurdle fours years running. Longford have failed to win a match in Leinster since their preliminary round victory over Westmeath in Pearse Park in 2007, a record Kavanagh describes as ‘unacceptable’.

He acknowledged that Longford’s shooting performance in last year’s meeting with Laois was frustrating, but he pointed to the windy conditions and Laois’ aggressive and defensive style as mitigating factors.

He confirmed the mood in the camp is good and the team are in high spirits in training.
