Gardai in Longford are questioning a man following a stabbing incident on Chapel Street last night. The victim, understood to be a male in his early 20s, was taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar. His injuries are deemed to be ‘not life threatening.’

Voting is underway on the Fiscal Treaty referendum. Latest figures (updated since this video was recorded) indicate that 17 percent of the electorate in Longford Town have so far cast their vote. Approximately 14 percent of the electorate in Granard, 15 percent in Ballinalee and 13 percent of people in Abbeylara have cast their vote.
