There are fears that the MIDOC service for the Longford area could be withdrawn because of difficulties with time allocations to MIDOC drivers. Councillor Peggy Nolan has lashed out at doctors for not making the public aware of the situation.
Longford Co Council has taken-in-charge the first of 128 unfinished housing estates in the county in a move that the Co Council’s Terry Rooney describes as having “huge benefits for both the developer, the homeowner and the council.” The Co Council has also spent in the region of €800,000 carrying out public safety works in unfinished housing developments in the region and it is likely that some estates will have to be demolished.
