Weather fails to dampen GAA race day (VIDEO)

Despite the inclement weather that threatened to halt the day before it even started, the tenth annual Longford GAA Raceday proved to be a resounding success in Punchestown.

The weather forced officials to reduce the number of races on the day, but it didn’t lessen the enjoyment for those who made the journey to the Kildare racetrack.

Gerry Farrell, a Dublin-based member of the Longford GAA Raceday committee, said the support of the event has continued to be strong, in spite of the current economic climate. He spoke with Longford Leader’s Conor Barrins at the event.
