Longford Co Council will have to make cuts to services because 42 per cent of homes in the county have still not paid the household charge. Several community groups are also likely to be affected.

A series of robberies in the county last week included the theft of equipment from Kepak in Ballymahon and the construciton site at Carrigglass Manor. A car was also stolen from a residence in the Gleann Riada housing estate.
