Longford conquer Cavan
Longford . . . . . 0-10 Cavan . . . . . 0-7
Trailing by 0-4 to 0-3 at the break, Longford produced a strong second half performance to get the better of Cavan at Breffni Park on Saturday night and thus consolidate their place at the top of the Division 3 table with full points from their two games played to date in the National Football League.
The introduction of substitutes James McGivney and Donal McElligott at half-time made the desired impact in attack as Longford gradually got on top to run out worthy winners and there is now a three-week break to the next game on March 4th against another of the neighbouring rivals Roscommon who are also unbeaten.
