Longford champions Emmet Óg set sights on Portlaoise

Waiting for Video...

Longford football champions Emmet Óg have taken a long route to the AIB GAA Leinster Club Championship semi-final but their players feel ready for the challenge of mighty Portlaoise on Sunday, November 25 in Portlaoise.

The Killoe club had to play nine matches to win the Longford title for the first time in 17 years and followed up local success with Leinster Championship wins over St Anne’s (Wexford) and Navan O’Mahony’s (Meath).

Star players Sean McCormack and Michael Quinn feel the team has grown stronger during their marathon run of games and believe they can upset Portlaoise, a club with a record seven provincial titles to their name.
