Killoe Young Emmets overcome St. Anne’s

AIB Leinster Club Senior Football Championship First Round

Killoe Young Emmets . . . . 2-7 St. Anne’s, Wexford . . . 2-4

Coming so soon after winning the county senior football championship title and all the celebrations in the aftermath of their epic Connolly Cup triumph the previous week, the Killoe players somehow found the energy to produce another spirited performance that saw them score a well deserved win over the Wexford champions St. Anne’s in the Leinster Club first round clash played in difficult wet and windy conditions at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday.

Sean McCormack fired home a cracking matchwinning goal midway through the second half and Young Emmets are now at home again in the quarter-final clash against the Meath champions Navan O’Mahonys on Sunday November 11th.
