Killoe impressive in emphatic win over Abbeylara

Peter Hanley Motors Senior Football Championship – Round 4

Killoe Young Emmets . . . . . . 2-17 Abbeylara . . . . . . 1-9

An excellent first half display from Killoe set them on their way to a most emphatic victory over Abbeylara in Round 4 of the Senior Football Championship at Maguire Park in Ballinalee on Sunday evening.

The game was over as a contest at the break with the Young Emmets very much in control, leading by 2-7 to 0-5 with the goals coming from Daniel Mimnagh and Sean McCormack. Abbeylara introduced Niall Sheridan for the second half and although the full-forward scored a goal his side were unable to find a way of getting back into contention.

It must be said that Killoe looked good all over the field. The two sides must meet again in the quarter-finals and on this evidence Abbeylara are facing a difficult task in their quest to qualify for the last four.
