Benefit Function: A benefit function in support of Dermot Keane originally from Triala Dillon, Curraghroe will take place in St. Faithleach’s GAA Centre on Saturday 29th December. Demot is son of Bill and the late Peggy Keane and currently lives in Australia. He has been struck down with a serous illness. There is grave concern about Dermot’s long term health and a commitee has been formed to raise funds to help Dermot. He may need to return home if well enough sometime in the future. Tickets are been sold door to door and there has been an unbelievable response from the general public. Tickets are priced at ten euro. All musicians have are giving of their services free on the night. Please do what you can to help this cause.

Christmas Fair: A major Christmas Fair takes place in the Percy French Hotel, Strokestown on this Saturday and Sunday 8th and 9th December. It is hoped that at least 30 stands with all sort of items especially for Christmas will be on show. Stands will cost 20 euro for one day and twenty five euro for two days. If you wish to sell some items for Christmas such as Christmas cakes puddings etc or Christmas decorations, candles or any items. Entry for the general public is free so come along and enjoy the afternoon on either day.All funds raised will go towards providing new facilities in town for children from all over the region.

Comedy Play: Acorn Players “Two Loves of Gabriel Foley”by Jimmy Keary A 3 Act Comedy will take place at St.Barry’s GAA Hall on on Sunday 9th December a 8pm sharp.Its going to be a great laugh and don’t we all need that right now.Adults e10 Children e5

Scramogue Church: should be reopened for next weekend. St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue will hopefully be re opened for Mass next Sunday morning at 11.30am.Well done to the various workmen and volunteers who are making improvements to several parts of the Church.

Table Quiz: A Table Quiz will take place in Leavy’s on this Friday 7th December commencing at 9pm. The Quiz in aid of the Hub Community Café, Church St, Strokestown. The project is based at the old Northern Bank building on Church St. The support of the Scramogue and Whitehall Community would be very much appreciated for this project by attending or supporting the table quiz in any way.

Card Game: for Church Renovation. A major fund raising Card Game will take place in Leavy’s Lounge on Friday 14th December. Massive prizes to be won including Monster Hamper Cash prizes and much much more. Tickets just three euro or 4 for a tenner. Rooskey centre: If you want to find details of all activities at the Rooskey Community Centre contact Patricia at 086-8534100. Community Welfare Officer will attend on a regular basis at the Centre. Other activities include healthy eating, weight loss classes, painting, dancing classes and much more.There is always something going on at the Ruskey Community Centre. Christmas Flower Show: A Christmas Flower Show takes place in the Community Centre on Monday 10th December commencing at 8pm.Demonstrations by renowned florist.Also Christmas logs for sale on the night.Adm 10e. All proceeds to Rooskey Church Restoration Fund.
