MOHILL COMMUNITY NETWORK: Congratulations to Mohill Community Network on its achievment at this years Leitrim County Council floral pride awards held in St Georges Church and visitor centre Ck on Shannon.

Mohill Community Network walked away with the first prize for population over 800 and the overall prize for the in a row highlighting the very sustained effort that is being put in by the group of dedicated people who have worked very hard over the past three years to achieve so much on a consistent basis and as been seen at the launch of their five year plan we can expect some quite ambitious projects for the next five years which will enhance the town and hopefully encourage business revival. It is good to see Mohill town and hinterland in all its splendour and to hear the positive comments from visitors and locals alike. These volunteers deserve all the support they can get so when you read this why not get in touch and lend a hand whenever you have some spare time.

ANNE JANE HUSTON: There was genuine regret and deep sorrow in the local community on hearing of the death of Annie Huston Drumbore who died on the 29th October 2012 in the tender care of the doctor nurses and staff at Lough Errill Nursing Home. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Harry many years ago RIP. ‘Baby’ as she was affectionately known was a lady of many qualities , a wonderful wife mother sister granny and neighbour. Her home was always welcoming. It was always a joy to meet her. She has a wealth of knowledge and loved music and dancing. We shall miss her. Her removal took place from her residence to St Marys Church Mohill for a service of thanksgiving by Canon Bill Atkins with the address given by Canon Noel Regan. The lovely music and song by her grandchildren added to the solemnity of this sad occasion as did the music of organist Hazel Tuthill. Following the service Baby was buried in Cloone cemetery. Our sympathy is with her dear family, sister and all who mourn her at this sad time. May her dear soul rest in peace.
