Parent Teacher Meeting: There is a 4th year and TY parent teacher meeting today, Wednesday 27th February from 3 to 6pm.

First Year Football: Well done the first years who took part in a football blitz in St. Loman’s, Mullingar last Thursday. Both teams played well despite the freezing conditions. The second years will have an eleven aside blitz tomorrow in Ballymahon. Thanks to Mr Cannon for organising this.

Mocks: The Junior and Leaving certificate students will be glad to be finished their mock exams today. Results and reports will be out soon and students will have to get down to some serious study now.

Green-Schools: Gary Brady, Environmental Officer with Longford County Council was in the college on Friday last to do an audit for a Litter and Waste flag as part of the Green-Schools Programme. He was very impressed with the progress made in the college by the Green-Schools committee, students and staff. We await his decision now and are hoping for a positive outcome. Keep up the good work.

Basketball: The first and second year teams were in action last Wednesday home to Rathangan. Hard luck to the first years who were defeated. The second years had a tough match but ended it with a win by 2 points. Both teams will be playing away today In Newbridge. Best of luck lads.

Work Experience: Transition Year students will be doing their second placement of work experience starting next week, Monday 4th March. Thank you to all the employers that have agreed to take on the students.

Garda Talk: On Friday last the 1st Years attended a talk by the Gardaí on CyberBullying. It was very informative and interesting. Thanks to the Gardai for taking the time out to come in to us.
