Due to instructions from the Irish Greyhound Board (IGB), Longford Greyhound Stadium will operate on a reduced racing schedule throughout the months of January and February.
The changes mean that meetings will take place on Friday evenings only until March, when the schedule will return to two nights a week.

The changes have been introduced to accommodate the reduced numbers attending the meetings, according to Paddy Farrington, Racing Manager at Longford Greyhound Stadium. “These are generally quieter months with less people attending the races. The weather conditions don’t help either,” he commented.

It’s not all bad news for racing fans though as an extra race has been added to the Friday night card at the Park Road venue. The stadium is also offering free entry to the track with each Gain Feeds meal bag purchased from your local agri-food store.

They are also offering a kids ticket deal for just p7.50. The deal includes entry to the stadium, a meal, a race named after the child, a photo with a winning greyhound on the night and a special Longford Greyhound Stadium goody bag.

A fundraising night in aid of the stadium will also take place in April with details to be announced shortly on longfordgreyhoundstadium.com.
