Longford GAA star Sean McCormack has finished the All Ireland football championship as its third highest scorer.
The Killoe forward hit 0-33 in Longford’s five Championship games, just 11 points off top scorer, Colm McFadden who finished with 4-32 to his name during Donegal’s seven game odyssey to land Sam Maguire.
McCormack was also mentioned on the Sunday Game’s discussion for the Team of the Championship, although he failed to make the side, he will certainly be in contention for an All Star later in the year.
Fellow Longford player, Paul Barden made it into the top ten scorers from play, with the Clonguish man’s 2-8 good enough to leave him in seventh place. Meath’s Graham Reilly finished on top with 0-18 from play during the Royal county’s run to the Leinster final.
If Killoe can overcome Dromard in the senior championship semi-final reply this Sunday, Sean McCormack will be hoping to add to an impressive year with an appearance in the senior final, which has now been rescheduled for Sunday October 14.
