Tired of cleaning up the mess left by your wheelie bin after storm Doris? Fed-up with cats and other creatures tearing the contents apart?

Difficulty in lifting heavy weights to keep the bin lid closed?

Well, Shauna Reilly and Emma Beirne, 1st year students in Moyne Community School, have a solution to your problems.

Under the guidance of their Business Studies teacher Mr Padraig Doherty, and with the cooperation of Mulleady’s Waste Management, the girls have produced a ‘Bin Belt’ which keeps the lid securely shut.

The belt has been tried and tested and is very easy to use.

The girls will be entering the Student Enterprise Awards later this month with their invention.

The ‘Bin Belt’ comes in packs of two for €15 and is available by contacting Moyne Community School on 049 43 35114.

It will be available from other outlets in the coming weeks.
