Longford motorists take care out there: warning issued for fog as more frost is forecast

Motorists in Longford have again been warned to take care on the roads to night with sub-zero conditions forecast and a warning issued for fog and freezing fog in places.

Met Éireann has issued an Status Orange Weather warning for widespread fog overnight will be dense in many places. There is a risk of some pockets of freezing fog also. The warning runs from 6pm on Friday 25 November until 9am on Saturday 26.

It forecasts a cold and dry night on Friday with some clear spells, but with mist and fog or freezing fog forming in places in Leinster. Lowest temperatures generally of between zero and -3 degrees Celsius, with frost and some icy patches, coldest in the midlands. 

Frost and fog will clear from most places on Saturday morning, but it will be a mostly dry day with some sunny spells, though a few patches of fog may linger throughout the day.
