Loughrey's Pharmacy in Longford town opens its doors under new CarePlus partnership

Loughrey’s Pharmacy, Dublin Street, Longford town, which is owned by  Longford Municipal District Cathaoirleach, Cllr Padraig Loughrey, has been officially rebranded as Loughrey’s CarePlus Pharmacy.

Pharmacist Padraig and his team have been serving the Longford community since November 2002, and felt a refresh of the store and its offering was required to keep up with the changing needs of customers throughout the town and county.

“We are here to ensure we offer the best service to all our customers, and by joining CarePlus Pharmacy, I feel strongly that not only am I supported by a new and innovative brand, but that the community relationship between my staff and I is still the core focus of our business,” said Padraig Loughrey at the opening.

Commenting on the launch which took place on Friday, August 26, Padraig said “I am humbled by so many of our customers who have joined us to celebrate the official relaunch of our pharmacy.  Our customers are the back bone of our business so it’s wonderful to welcome them all and show off our new and improved store, which we’re all really proud of.”

With the pharmacy now double in size and a continued focus on patient/customer relationships, the team have expanded their offering into Flormar cosmetics, whilst retaining important services like a Chiropodist and Food Intolerance Testing.  Customers enjoyed a 20% off discount across a range of brands as well as lucky winners walking away with hampers, spot prizes and a 5 star weekend away in Powerscourt Hotel.  And managing the official celebrations was Padraig himself who is Mayor of Longford Municipal Area, who cut the ribbon to formally declare the newly rebranded store open for business.

Also owning pharmacies in Drumlish and Harbour Row, Padraig Loughrey joined the CarePlus Pharmacy Group to avail of the many benefits of being part of nationwide brand, including marketing expertise, the latest in technology and a more cost effective system for the benefit of his customers.

As part of the rebrand, the pharmacy will continue to use the well-established and trusted name Loughrey’s, whilst benefiting from a full interior and exterior customer friendly makeover.

CarePlus Pharmacy CEO, John Carroll, added: “I’m delighted to welcome Padraig Loughrey and his great team to CarePlus Pharmacy. We are dedicated to working together with all the local, community-based pharmacists to provide a professional, personal experience in a friendly environment. The newly rebranded pharmacy here in Longford will serve local customers and provide them with the very best in health care and beauty needs.’
