The sudden and unexpected death of Seamus Sweeney, Glan, Kilcogy on Tuesday 18th is widely mourned in the area. Deceased was a friendly and unassuming gentleman and his sudden death caused a sense of shock among his neighbours and friends where his passing has left a void and by whom he will be sadly missed. Coming from a typical local farming family, Seamus, along with his brother Benny, took great pride in looking after his holding which he maintained to with great taste. Their’s was a closely knit family unit where the brothers were diligent and industrious workers and good neighbours and were highly respected by all who knew them. The funeral Mass on Friday in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran was celebrated by Canon Owen Devaney, assisted by Fr, Tomsie Smith and burial took place to local cemetery. We extend our sincere sympathy to his brothers, Benny and Thomas, uncle Edward, aunt-in-law Kathleen, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.
