New programme launched for secondary cancer

The Irish Cancer Society is launching a new programme to help those recently diagnosed with secondary cancer to learn about and discuss the practical and emotional issues of their diagnosis in a safe, confidential and supportive environment.
 The six-month programme which will be facilitated by Clinical Psychologist, Aine Melinn will commence in March 2013 and meetings will take place at the Irish Cancer Society headquarters in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

People recently diagnosed with secondary cancer should contact Deirdre Murphy, Patient Support Services Coordinator at the Irish Cancer Society (Tel.: 01 2310 500 or email dmurphy@irishcancer.ie) to discuss their interest in joining the group and availing of this programme which will start in March 2013, in more detail. The programme will be repeated in September 2013. These programmes will be kindly supported by Novartis Oncology.
