Major fundraiser in the pipeline for ‘Little Max’

Little Max Wenman from Ballinalee who is currently undergoing cancer treatment is “doing well” according to his godfather and chief fundraiser organiser Eddie Mooney, who spoke to the Leader earlier this week.

A fundraiser is in the pipeline this weekend for the two-year-old who was diagnoised with Neuroblastoma last June and all support for this very worthwhile initiative will be appreciated.

“We are holding a charity fundraising football match which takes place on March 1 at 7pm,” added Mr Mooney.

“Entitled the ‘Ollie Foudy Cup’ it takes place at the Mall Complex, Longford town and all proceeds will go toward Little Max Wenman and St Christopher’s Servicves, Longford.”

Sponsorship cards are available in shops and bars throughout Longford and there will be an assortment of live music with lots of refreshments at Neary’s Anvil Bar following the game.

“Little Max is doing great at the moment and has just completed his 14 days of Radiotherapy at St Luke’s Hospital in Dublin,” continued Mr Mooney. “I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the facility for everthing they have done for Little Max.

“Following the Radiotherapy, Little Max will then engage in six months of ‘immunotherapy’’ – treatment that will be split between his home in Ballinalee and St John’s Ward at Crumlin Children’s Hospital.”

Further fundraising has been planned for later in the year. A charity auction of sports-stars, famous people and signed memorabilia is in the pipeline and the fundraising committee would very much appreciate donations for the auction.

“If anyone or any business would like to get involved or sponsor this please contact myself, Eddie Mooney through the Little Max Facebook page or
contact the Longford Leader,” Mr Mooney added.

“We would also like to thank Danny, Martin and the staff and patrons of Foley’s Bar, Longford for the ‘Movember For Little Max Fundraiser’, which was a great success.”
